Marquette – The 21st annual “Learning to Walk Together” traditional pow wow will be held on Saturday, March 15 at Vandament Arena at Northern Michigan University.
The doors open to the public at 11 a.m., with two grand entries at noon and 6 p.m. General admission tickets are $5 and NMU students are free with a student ID.
“Learning to Walk Together” is a means to promote cultural diversity within the community. The celebration begins with the grand entry and flag song, followed by the veteran’s song to honor male and female veterans. The event includes traditional powwow dances and social powwow dances, with artisan and vendor booths available to display craft items, reference materials and food.
