Marquette – The opening ceremonies for the U.P. 200 Sled Dog Race and the Midnight Run will be held on Friday, February 14 at 6:15 p.m. on Washington Street in downtown. Marquette.
The Marine Corps League Color Guard will display the flag with pride and the Marquette Male Chorus will give a special performance. The ceremonies will be hosted by Frida Waara and Walt Lindala. Jim and Ray will also be providing music. Free hot chocolate and cookies will be offered at the corner of North Front and East Ridge Streets by the First United Methodist Church.
The U.P. 200 will begin at 7 p.m. and the Midnight Run will begin 30 minutes after the last team for the U.P. 200 leave the chute. For more information on the races and other events associated with the races, log on to www. UP200.org.
