The Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition will present the forum” Facing Mining: What Rights Do Citizens and Landowners Have?” on Saturday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Women's Federated Clubhouse, 104 W. Ridge Street, Marquette.
The forum will use an interactive format involving panelists and the audience. Attorneys Michelle Halley and Jane Beyer from the National Wildlife Federation and citizen attorney Scott Bouma will be in attendance.
Topics will include public hearings, severed mineral rights, legal standing under the Michigan Environmental Protection Act, MEPA standards and non-violent civil disobedience.
