Children’s Museum to Hold Training for its Kid Bizness Program – December 27th

MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – The Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum will hold a training session on Friday, December 27th for kids interested in joining its Kid Bizness Program. The program is designed to assist young entrepreneurs, ages eight to 18, in developing, marketing, packaging and selling original products. The training session will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Museum.

With funding from a grant from the Davenport Foundation, the Museum developed the program and included a portion of Sprout, its gift and toy store, for products created by Upper Peninsula youth.

Jim Edwards, UPCM Education Coordinator, said the program is designed to help young entrepreneurs get their start in the business world.

“We’ll help you develop as a designer and guide you through the steps to becoming your own boss,” he said. “You’ll make your line of products, make an agreement with the Museum, sell your items in our store and be on the road to making your first profit, and hopefully your first million!”

The youth must create their own products at home or elsewhere. The Museum will not be providing supplies or production facilities. The program is open to all young people from throughout the Upper Peninsula. To register for the December 27th training contact Edwards at (906) 226-3911, or at museummrjim@gmail.com.
