NMU Brings Back ‘Santaland Diaries’

MARQUETTE, Mich.—Northern Michigan University’s theater program will bring back David Sedaris’ Santaland Diaries at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 21, in the James A. Panowski Black Box Theatre. General admission tickets are $5. For an additional $10, a holiday party will be available before Saturday’s performance, featuring hot hors d’oeuvres and holiday drinks. Tickets are available at all NMU EZ Ticket outlets, including the Forest Roberts Theatre box office.

Jacob Barbot has returned to NMU to reprise his starring role of Crumpet, who shares his humorous experiences as a department store elf. Ansley Valentine will direct the show. Jill Vermuelen and Taylor Kulju will play the supporting roles of elves.

The holiday party menu will include chicken satay, bruschetta and vegetable crudités. Drinks will include red and white wines, a specialty cocktail, tea and coffee.

The show has some mature content, so a PG-13 rating has been advised.
