Finnish Fulbright Scholar to Share International Start-Up Wisdom And Experience

OUGHTON, Michigan (October 27, 2014) – MTEC SmartZone presents Fulbright Scholar Dr. Jari Luomakoski, who will enlighten current and prospective entrepreneurs and business owners on the topic, Minimizing Start-Up Risk: The Finnish Experience. The lecture, followed by questions and networking, is on Thursday, October 30, at 5 p.m. at the Powerhouse Building in Houghton. Admission is free. The event is sponsored by the Finnish American Chamber, MTEC SmartZone, and Finlandia University. Refreshments will be provided.

Dr. Luomakoski will share his extensive experiences – both good and bad – with start-up ventures in the Finnish business world. He has a particular research interest in business model factors that lead to failure. Dr. Jari Luomakoski is a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at North Central State College, Ohio. A resident of Helsinki, Finland, he has been working this semester with the Division of Business, Industry and Technology at NCSC.
