Westwood Shakespeare Company to Present Midsummer Night’s Dream in January

Ishpeming—“Here comes Oberon…” and the rest of the fairy kingdom to Westwood High School! The Westwood Shakespeare Company will present A Midsummer Night’s Dream January 8 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and January 15 at 7 p.m. at Westwood Auditorium.
“This is our third go ‘round with the dream,” said director B.G. Bradley, “and it’s always fun and challenging.”

The play involves the comic goings on between the fairy kingdom, members of royalty and all too common workmen, lost in an enchanted forest. It is recognized by critics as one of Shakespeare’s comic masterpieces.

“It’s also a wonderful introduction to Shakespeare, because it’s funny and accessible for young and old alike,” said Bradley. “Please bring your little ones! They’ll love it!”

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for high school and college students, with children under 10 admitted free. For further information phone 485-1023 or e-mail bradleybg@nice.k12.mi.us
