Marquette, Michigan – November 13, 2013 – The Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve will be holding their annual meeting at the Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette on November 13, 2013. The meeting will take place at 7 – 7:30 pm and be followed by a silent auction, photo contest, music, and a raffle featuring Patagonia gear.
The list of items for the silent auction includes unique experiences, locally made goods, and works of art. Examples include a boat tour on the Coaster II with dinner and music on board, a large wolf photograph on canvas by Carl Sams, jewelry by Beth Millner, and much more. Bids will be accepted until 9:45pm.
The top three photo contest winners will be selected by public vote. One photo will be chosen and featured on the cover of the next Yellow Dog newsletter. Entries for the contest can be sent to mindy@yellowdogwatershed.org.
Local music for the evening will feature several new collaborations from the community. We will hear from the new acoustic invention Montana Wildhack, Lost Dog (now the Dog Doors), and Bryan Drewyor, a one-man band with lyrical magic and a special song written for the event. Mike Kantola will also make an appearance and showcase his latest tunes and favorite covers on accordion and guitar.
The event is a benefit for Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve programs, which include: water quality, land preservation, the mining campaign, education and outreach. We are a 501c3 nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the Yellow Dog Watershed, for now, and for the benefit of future generations. The meeting is open to the public and you do not have to be a member to attend.
