Hancock – A reading of Eelu Kiviranta’s narrative poem “The Copper Country Strike of 1913” will be offered on Monday, September 23 at 7 p.m. at the Finnish American Heritage Center at Finlandia University in Hancock.
This presentation of the poem by his granddaughter Lillian Lehto will consist of a reading enhanced by a simultaneous keynote presentation of period archival photographs illustrating many of the scenes mentioned in the poem.
The presentation will be followed by discussion and coffee. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 487-7505.
