Peter White Public Library hosts a panel discussion on navigating the new health care reform changes on Monday, September 23 at 7:00pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room.
Representatives specializing in health care insurance, tax issues and law will answer your questions on how to steer your way through the Affordable Care Act. Starting October 1, 2013, the Health Insurance Marketplace will open for selecting insurance plans and in 2014 every individual will be required to have health insurance coverage or pay a penalty. New tax credits and subsidies will drastically reduce the cost of health insurance for thousands of U.P. residents but only if insurance is purchased through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
The panel discussion will be geared towards how to choose plans for individuals and families and for small business owners. Medicare and Medicare prescription plans will not be covered at this event.
Panel members are: Leslie Gardiner, panel moderator and an Insurance Consultant with City Insurance Agency; Mary Jeanne Rajala, an Accountant with Grandchamp, McBride & Prophet, P.C.; Erick Roberts, a Certified Public Accountant, also with Grandchamp, McBride & Prophet, P.C. and Tami M. Seavoy, an Attorney with Kendricks, Bordeau, Adamini, Greenlee & Keefe, P.C. There is no admission charge. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
