Craig Lake State Park Bridge Replacement Begins Sept. 2

The Department of Natural Resources recently announced that beginning on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2, construction crews will begin replacing two temporary bridges at Craig Lake State Park in eastern Baraga County, making two rustic cabins on the lake accessible only by boat throughout most of September.

The permanent replacement bridges, scheduled to be completed Sept. 27, will make accessing the cabins safer and easier. For questions or concerns regarding this project, please contact Douglas Barry or Debra Gill at 906-339-4461.

Craig Lake State Park, located off US-41 near Michigamme, is considered the most remote park in Michigan’s state park system. To learn more about the park’s amenities, activities and events, visit www.michigan.gov/craiglake.
