(West Ishpeming, Michigan) – Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be back stage with actors and the director as they prepare a play? Wonder no more. You have the opportunity to sit in on the rehearsals of the Westwood Shakespeare Company Community Theatre’s production of King Lear! The company, which is composed of some of the finest adult and student actors from around the area kicked off their year long pursuit of the essence of Shakespeare and his masterpiece, with auditions Sept. 14 at Westwood Auditorium and will travel around the area throughout the coming year, holding once a month, FREE, OPEN, rehearsals at various venues. Think of it as reality TV minus the TV. The actors and director will be live for you to watch, as they work out the intricacies of the greatest playwright who ever lived and attempt to bring him to a modern audience. No one knows what will happen along the way to the August 2014 premiere of the play back home at Westwood. Be there October 13 at 3 p.m. at Ishpeming’s Joy Center (located at 1492 Southwood Drive) as the company kicks off The Year of Lear!
