PWPL Literacy Project Volunteer Tutor Training

(Marquette, Michigan) – The PWPL Literacy Project seeks additional volunteer tutors to support its program of free literacy instruction for adults in Marquette County. Since 2011, the PWPL Literacy Project has assisted adults working to improve their reading and writing skills or who are learning English as a second language.

New tutors must preregister, then complete a three-part training session (one evening, and two Saturday meetings). Forthcoming training sessions will take place on October 3, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., and October 5 and 12, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Peter White Public Library, 217 N. Front St., Marquette. To register or for more information please call the Reference Desk at 226-4311 or e-mail lisas@uproc.lib.mi.us.

The PWPL Literacy Project also welcomes referrals of Marquette County adults seeking tutoring that is free of charge, flexible and confidential.
