Ishpeming – Mission Covenant Church, formerly The United Evangelical Church, will host an open house to celebrate its new name on Thursday, August 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church, 1001 N. Second Street in Ishpeming.
The church voted unanimously to change its name this summer to express a desire to connect with God’s mission in the world. Mission Covenant is also the name the Covenant churches in Negaunee and Ishpeming used over 100 years ago when they were stared by Swedish immigrants. The public is invited.
