Compensation:
Pay will start at $7.25 per hour, or higher depending upon qualifications and experience.
Requirements:
An organized, responsible, hard-working, with pleasant speaker that can learn new skills and keeps cool under stress are the best traits to start with.
Computer knowledge and comfort a must. Experience writing short sports reports for online publication a great plus, but training will be provided. As part of reporting duties, light-duty ability to post a photo, work with MP3s (and/or Wav) files as well a regular short postings to our website will be expected.
Detail Oriented.
Applicants will need to be computer savvy, work with a studio board (after training).
The successful candidate should be able to grow and develop their skills.
Previous radio experience not required, but an organized, quick-learner is a must.
Successful candidate should be able setup and conduct interviews (including recording and editing them), plus post summary of Interviews (usually with photos) and post show activity on the Internet. Ability to do telephone Interviews, In-Studio Interviews, and Field Interviews will be required from time-to-time; the ability to learn quickly to do these radio-related skills is a must.
Candidate Should be good at reading (ads/live reads/spots/promos/announcements) for sponsors, reading weather, reading local and state sports scores, and announcing local news items, birthdays, calendar items, and school closings. Unexpected things arise, so the successful candidate should be adaptable enough to smoothly work out problems on the fly.
The successful Candidate should be able to take incoming information, organize it, and followup as needed. Candidate should be able to make any event or news relevant to listeners and our web visitors.
Candidate should be able to work with little or no supervision once trained and have the qualities of a self-starter, self-motivated person.
Candidate must be at least 18 years old.
Additional Requirements
Ability to be trained and thoroughly learn industry specific software and tools, and live-read system and other web-related tools are a must. Ability to post on web short summaries of daily guests, interviews, calendar items, and upcoming events.
Writing skills and commercial spots writing in particular are highly valued skills.
Excellent communication skills, pleasant public presentation, creative insights preferred.
