Internationally known Story-Educator, 3 time Emmy Award winner and
Parent’s Choice Nominee, Bobby Norfolk presents a Living History of
George Washington Carver on Monday, June 17 at 7:00 pm in the Peter
White Public Library community room.
Born into slavery George Washington Carver rose to national and
international fame, meeting with presidents and world leaders. An
amazingly “Creative Chemist,” who devised hundreds of uses for peanuts, soybeans, and sweet potatoes, he spent much of his career
educating farmers on the benefits of crop rotation and sustainable
farming, helping to revitalize the American South’s post Civil War
economy.
Despite offers of employment from, Henry Ford and Thomas Edison,
Carver chose to stay at Tuskegee Institute to help ex-slaves and their descendants build new lives. Among the first black men to be respected by white America, his shy but inspiring presence touched many lives. Once popularly known as “The Peanut Man,” Dr. Carver’s name is still widely recognized and has become one of our country’s most well known success stories.

all ages makes him one of America’s premier storytellers. Using
dynamic movement and vocal effects, Bobby creates vibrant characters
who come to life through imaginative, creative story, living history
programs that promote character education traits, cultural diversity,
and literacy.
