Marquette – Lake Superior Theatre will host auditions for the Summer 2013 Season which includes productions of “Beacon on the Rock” directed by
Denise Clark and Shelley Russell, “Pirates of Penzance” directed by Jeff Spencer and musical direction by Rob Engelhart, and Superior Broadway” directed by Denise Clark.
The casting calls for both male and female roles from ages 5 to 105. Auditions are on Wednesday, May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, May 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Panowski Black Box Theater at NMU. Callbacks will occur immediately after auditions on Friday May 17 at 6 p.m.
A pianist will be available at the auditions. Those auditioning areasked to sing a 90 second song cutting and an optional monologue. Scenes will also be available for cold readings.
Rehearsals begin in late May/early June. Performances for “Beacon on the Rock” are July 5 through 7 and July 10 through 14. Performances for “Pirates of Penzance are July 17 through 21 and July 24 through 28. Performances for Superior Broadway are August 14 through 16.
