Marquette – Social justice advocate Sandra Fluke will speak on”Sandra Fluke: Making Our Voices Heard” on Wednesday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center at NMU.
Fluke’s efforts to testify before Congress on the need for insurance plans to cover contraception created a national media firestorm. She has since been recognized for pro bono representation of victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. She also has spoken about birth control and other issues of concern to women and young people across various news outlets.
This event is sponsored by the NMU student group Platform Personalities and the Student Activity Fee. It is free for NMU students with ID and $2 for the general public. Tickets are available at the door.
