Marquette – Art of Framing invites artists and non-artists alike to participate in “Art For Animals,” a fundraiser for Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter.
To participate, pick up a 5×7 canvas panel at Art of Framing, 149 W. Washington Street, Marquette or UPAWS, 84 Snowfield Road, Negaunee Township for $1 from February 1 through 16. Participants may paint whatever they like and return the finished painting to Art of Framing by February 16. The painting will then be framed, free of charge, and hung for one week at Art of Framing for popular vote. The artist receiving the most votes will receive a $50 Gift Certificate to Art of Framing.
Art of Framing will later host a Gala Reception and Silent Auction, with bids starting at $1 for the framed original artwork. The public is invited to attend this event on February 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
