Frontier Ruckus Performs at NMU November 16th

MARQUETTE, Mich.—Frontier Ruckus, a folk-rock band from the Detroit area, will be the next featured act in the Northern Nights performing arts series at Northern Michigan University. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in 102 Jamrich Hall. Advance tickets are $2 for students and children, $10 for faculty/staff and seniors over 60, and $15 for the general public. They are available at any NMU EZ Tickets outlet. Prices are $2 higher for tickets purchased at the door.

Frontier Ruckus has toured extensively in the United States and Europe. Rolling Stone magazine described its music as “…delicate, finger-picked banjos, aching, oaky violin and the haunting voice of frontman Matthew Milia, who conjures what might happen had Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum been raised in a log cabin. Their songs are full of rich, rural details: frozen lakes, swaying trees, highway lights glowing in the deep night. Add to the mix baleful brass and trembling percussion, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for Gothic Americana.”
