COMPLAINT NUMBER: 11-001479
BRIEF SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the intersection of Commerce Drive and Moran Street for a two vehicle personal injury crash. Investigation revealed that a 2003 Mitubishi van travelling westbound on Moran Street driven by Lourdes Donoghue, 64, of Ft. Charlotte, FL. with her passenger Norman Gotschall, 84, of Big Bay, MI. failed to stop for the stop sign at Commerce Drive. Donoghue struck a 2011 Chrysler sedan travelling northbound on Commerce Drive driven by Chelsea Rewald, 24, of East Jordan, MI. As a result of the crash both vehicles left the roadway coming to rest in the ditch on the west side of Commerce Drive. All persons involved were transported to Marquette General Health System by Medi-Ride and Marquette General Health System and treated for unknown injuries.
Donoghue was cited for failing to yield right of way. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash and safety belts were used.
Assisting at the scene was Marquette Township Fire/Rescue, Marquette General EMS and Medi-Ride EMS.
