Marquette – Northern Michigan University will present a biology seminar on deer tick populations at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Monday, October 29 at 11 a.m. in the Mead Auditorium, located in the West Science Building.
Graduate student Steve Schaar will discuss his research regarding endemic populations of Ixodes scapularis, commonly referred to as the deer tick, in select areas of the Pictured Rocks park. This presentation is free and open to the public. The deer tick is considered a main vector of Lyme disease in North America.
