Marquette – Marquette City residents are invited and encouraged to participate in “Trash to Treasure Day” on Saturday, September 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the city.
The purpose of the program is to provide a venue for the recycling of reusable household items such as lamps, furniture, electronics and other working household items.
Residents can place items on the curb in front of their house no earlier than 8 a.m. and unclaimed items must be removed by 2 p.m. It is suggested that homeowners remove any lawn furniture/lawn ornaments before the event to avoid any mistaken identity.
People are encouraged to “shop” the local neighborhoods for “treasures” and save the landfill from excess materials.
For more information, call the Public Works Department at 228-0444.
