Marquette – The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center is currently taking registrations for its 2012 Fall Workshop series. The series offers an opportunity for community residents of all ages to explore and learn about visual arts, language and cultural arts, and movement and wellness arts with highly qualified instructors.
Workshops begin on Monday, September 24 continue into December with most meeting once a week for six weeks.
Visual art classes include beginning watercolor painting for adults, figure drawing, paper casting, and wardrobe redesign.
Literary art classes include creative poetry, and Anishinaabe language.
Wellness classes include beginningm editation, belly dancing, Hoop Shakti Yoga, and Tai Ch.
Classes especially exciting for teens (but also open to adults) include jewelry-making, music theory, knitting, beginning Japenese and fused glass ornaments.
In addition, a three-day watermedia intensive class will be offered from October 18 through the 20 featuring the magic of space, light, and texture.

Registration is due one week prior to the class’s first session date. Late registration is accepted only if there is space still available in a desired class.
