Marquette – Join Readers Theater for a reading of “The Mousetrap” by Agatha Christie, on Thursday, July 19 at 7 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.
The Mousetrap opened in the West End of London in 1952, and has been running continuously since then. It is the longest running show (of any type) of the modern era. The play is also known for its twist ending, which at the end of every performance the audience is asked not to reveal.
The story focuses on a peculiar group of strangers stranded by a snowstorm and staying at a recently opened boarding house. One of the guests is a murderer. As the policeman probes the background of everyone present, another murder occurs and he uncovers lies and deceptions as he discovers that everyone has hidden secrets.
Peter White Public Library’s Readers Theater is a group of adults, who are interested in drama and are willing and able to read a scripted role. They meet on the third Thursday of each month to read plays for enjoyment. New members are always welcome.
