Marquette – The Marquette Regional History Center will host the program “Tombstone Detectives” on Thursday, June 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Park Cemetery in Marquette.
This family friendly program have activities for children and will include doing a tombstone rubbing, finding symbols in a scavenger hunt and uncovering the mystery of the oldest tombstone.
Learn about historic figures from the past: a female author, a photographer, a wrestler and a woman lighthouse keeper. They all will come alive with role playing by museum staff and volunteers Betsy Rutz, Jack Deo, Bob Mercure and Greta VanOsdol. The program for all ages will conclude with a ghost story.
Meet at the main gate on Seventh Street to begin the walk and tour. A $5 donation is being asked to assist with program costs.
