Marquette – The 4th Annual Marquette Sunrise Dog Dash will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at 8:30 a.m. beginning at Picnic Rocks in Marquette.
The run (or walk) will have distances of either 2.5 miles or 1 mile. Awards will be presented to the fastest overall male and female owners, as well as to the fastest boy and girl (age 12 and under) in both events. A dog costume contest with prizes will be awarded immediately following the run/walk.
Registration is $15 and includes a 4th of July Dog Dash neckerchief (while supplies last). Entry forms are available at the Upper Peninsula Welfare Shelter, Marquette area pet shops, or online at www.upaws.org. Registration will also be offered early on event day.
All proceeds will benefit the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter.
