7th annual Marquette Food Co-op Farm Tours

Every year, The Marquette Food Co-op organizes with local farmers to provide an opportunity for the public to tour their farms. These fun and educational tours allow the public to see where their food is coming from, how it is grown, and to ask farmers any questions they have about the products they sell. For seven years, the Marquette Food Co-op has hosted farm tours to answer the question, “Where does food come from?” The farm tours are a chance to find out exactly how and where our local food is produced. This year includes a three-farm tour devoted to a rapidly expanding area of food production: the urban farm.

The tours are free to everyone, and take place over a series of weekends throughout the summer. This year offers a wide variety of farms to see, with products ranging from produce and meat to flowers and honey.

Once again, The Marquette Food Co-op is offering free passports to the farms with driving directions and a place for stamps. Any passport (even with just one stamp) is eligible to be entered in the Farm Tour Raffle, which features locally produced prizes. There will be a special raffle for participants who visit all the farms. Passports can be turned in at the Marquette Food Co-op.
