Call for Artist Proposals for Public Art Project in Marquette

MARQUETTE- The City of Marquette and the Downtown Development Authority are seeking artist proposals for a public art project that will be installed at the Marquette Commons for the Farmers Market season.

One artist will be chosen for the commission of 10 individual mural panels. The artist will work with students, ages 5 to 18, to complete the project between July 9 through the 14, 2012. The artist stipend is $750.

Interested parties can find the artist application at www.mqtcty.org/arts.html, www.downtownmarquette.org/farmersmarket.php, or by visiting the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library at 217 North Front Street or call them at 228-0472 for more information.

Applications are now being accepted until June 15, 2012.
