Marquette – The Flat Broke Blues Band will perform at Northern Michigan University as part of the Upper Peninsula Folklife Festival’s Coffee House Series on Saturday, May 19 at 7 p.m. in the University Center’s Peter White Lounge.
Flat Broke has played at a number of venues and special events across the upper Great Lakes Region for more than a decade. The band features two original members: guitarist/vocalist Walt Lindala and bassist/vocalist Mark Johnson. They are joined by guitarist/vocalist Mike Letts, drummer Jim Cohen and lead vocalist/harmonica player Lorrie Hayes.
Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. This concert is sponsored by the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center and by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs.
