Marquette – The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market’s Grand Opening will be on Saturday, May 19 at the Marquette Commons.
The Grand Opening will feature music by Jeff Nelson from 9a.m. to 1 p.m. In celebration of the local food that is available early in the growing season, the Marquette Food Co-op will sponsor two demonstrations with Abbey Palmer of Rock River Farms from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that will use produce available at market that day.
The Downtown Development Authority will also sponsor a children’s activity and supply the soil and seeds for children to take home and start plants of their own.
The market will be held every Saturday, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. until the end of October. Bridge Cards, Market FRESH, Project FRESH, credit, and debit cards are all accepted.
