Ishpeming – The Al Quaal Recreation Area will open for the season Saturday, December 20, weather permitting. Rec area hours are noon to 5 p.m.
A lighted ice rink, available at no charge will be open daily until 8 p.m.
The area also features a tube slide, a ski hill and four cross-country ski trails, with one lighted trail to remain open until 10 p.m.
Holiday hours are noon to 5 p.m. December 22, 23, and December 26 through 30 and January 2.
The area will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Beginning January 3, hours will be noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Cost is $7 per person.
