Marquette – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will offer a class titled “What is a Therapy Dog?” on Monday, February 27 at 7 p.m. in room 101-B at the Superior Dome
Kelly December, a therapy dog trainer, will speak on the ways therapeutic pets can provide comfort and assistance to those in need. December will bring her Bernese mountain dog to demonstrate how therapy dogs assist in hospitals, nursing homes and in a variety of settings with children. Therapy dogs have been used to assist those grieving after 9/11 and the tornado in Joplin, Miss.
This class is free for NCLL members and $5 for non-members. Register by Monday, February 20, by calling Pat Frenn at 225-1841.
