11 a.m. Marquette Food Coop
11:45-12:45 Walking tour of Campus
1-2 p.m. Lunch and Presentation at Donckers
2-4 p.m. Tour of Businesses (Downtown Marquette)
4-5 p.m. Debriefing  (Whitman Hall)
5 p.m. Hosts pick up students

Thursday, Jan. 26
7:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Youth shadow American high school students at MSHS and Superior Central. Lunch included.

10-11 a.m. Latin American Faculty Group
11 a.m.- noon NMU’s Center for Student Enrichment (
Noon-1p.m. Lunch at Temaki and Tea
1-2:30 p.m. Children’s Museum 8-18 Media (Downtown)

Tech Time:
NMU students interact with CAYA students via Facebook (Professor Mary Andronis Classroom)

4-5 p.m. Debriefing (Whitman Hall)
5 p.m. Hosts pick up students

Friday, Jan. 27
8 a.m. Meet at Whitman
8:30-9:30 a.m. Pioneer Surgical Tour

10-11 p.m. Presentation NMU Leader in Residence Holger Wagner (Whitman Commons)
11-12:30 p.m. Presentation by interpreter Mar Siller
12:30-1:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30-4:30 p.m. Community Service Projects. Youth will volunteer in small groups.

Saturday, Jan. 28
HOMESTAY
DAY

This is a day for the hosts to introduce a typical weekend day to their guest(s). Each host spends their Saturdays doing different things; please keep your usual plans and do what you would normally do, but include your guest in your activities. We recommend that you explain the Saturday’s plan the night before, so your guest will know what to expect.

Families are welcome to stay all day with the students. If you would like to snowshoe, you must provide your own equipment.
