Marquette – The Marquette Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Jacob Chi, will present an “East Meets West” concert on Saturday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Kaufman Auditorium.
The program will feature Chinese compositions “Mao Yuan (Chinese Dance)” and “Chen Gang (Butterfly Concerto for Violin),” and Respighi's “Pines of Rome.”
A pre-concert dinner at 5 p.m. in the Sky Room of The Landmark Inn in Marquette will feature a talk by Chi about the concert program. Cost is $50 per person. Dinner selections must be made with reservations; advance payment is requested. Concert tickets cost $25 for adults, $10 for students (limited availability) and youths 13-18, and $7 for 12 and younger.
