Marqueete – The Peter White Public Library Afternoon Classic Film series will present “You Can't Take It With You” on Friday, November 21 at 1:30 p.m.
This 1938 romantic comedy starring James Stewart and Jean Arthur won Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director for Frank Capra. The film tells the story of stenographer Alice Sycamore (Arthur) who is in love with her boss Tony Kirby (Stewart), and the resulting clash of lifestyles when the zany Sycamore family and snobbish Kirbys meet for the first time.
The film is in the original black and white, and runs for 126 minutes. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.
