Marquette – Fulbright scholar Djeneba Traore of Mali will present “The Empowerment of the African Woman” on Tuesday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Mead Auditorium, West Science Building at Northern Michigan University.
During her NMU visit she will meet with students and faculty, addressing such topics as the effects of HIV/AIDS on women and children; female genital cutting; Malian development issues and government social policy; and contemporary African literature and its oral tradition.
