Ishpeming, MI – What do a bunch of young actors who have been rehearsing a Shakespearean masterpiece for three months do when they have completed the play’s run? Why, they make fun of it, of course! In Omelet!, written and improvised by the members of the Westwood Shakespeare Company and Drama Department, and William Shakespeare, lots of fun is poked at the Bard’s masterpiece.
“The kids came to me with the concept and I gave it a title, which they hate by the way, but I think it fits. Like an omelet this work is a little bit of this and that which adds up to a tasty bit of fun,” said director B.G. Bradley.
According to Bradley the students have spent the semester working in both Shakespearean and improvisational theater and this performance combines those genres. It’s also their final exam.
Performances of Omelet! are slated for 10 a.m. Jan. 11 and 7 p.m. Jan. 18. Admission is $5.
