Marquette – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning and the American Association of University Women will co-sponsor the presentation “Is Title IX Working?” on Thursday, November 13 at 7 p.m. at the Federation of Women's Clubs clubhouse, at Ridge and Front Streets in Marquette.

The presentation will revolve around the Civil Rights Act of 1972, specifically Title IX, which prohibits gender discrimination in any educational program or activity receiving any type of federal financial aid.

Toby Rose, Northern Michigan University English professor, will describe ways Title IX has worked, present arguments against it and offer suggestions for improvement.

Registration deadline is Tuesday, November 11. Call Ellen Zaki at 226-6169.
