Negaunee – The Michigan Iron Industry Museum will offer a Holiday Shopping and 3-D Photography Event on Saturday, December 3 at 1:30 p.m. at the museum on Forge Road in Negaunee.
History buffs and holiday shoppers are invited to attend the premiere of a 3D photography program and enjoy special discounted holiday shopping at the museum store.
Local photographer Jack Deo of Superior View Studio in Marquette will present his new program “The World of Occupations in 3D” in the museum auditorium. The program takes guests on a three-dimensional trip 100 years into the past with historical photos documenting various occupations from around the world, including the Upper Peninsula . Other featured locations include East Coast textile mills, Chicago sausage factories and Detroit automobile manufacturing plants.
The museum store will be open with discounted items during the event. Items for sale include regional books, movies and maps; rocks and minerals; apparel; old-fashioned toys; Michigan and Upper Peninsula themed items; and seasonal holiday merchandise. Additionally, the book “No Tears in Heaven: The 1926 Barnes-Hecker Mine Disaster” will be available during the shopping event for a special reduced price.
