Marquette – In conjunction with the One Book, One Community program, a concert on the Balkans will be offered on Thursday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Reynolds Recital Hall on the campus of NMU.
The concert, with performances by NMU faculty and students, will include the singing of the Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian national anthems in the original languages. Folk songs with other folk melodies will be played on violin and cello, and readings about the Balkans will be featured. The final piece will be a vocal duet of the “Benedictus.”
