Marquette – Audiences ages 10 and up are invited to experience the drama of “A Christmas Carol” at performances on Thursday December 8 through Saturday December 10 at 7 p.m., with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
In an ‘acting Tour de Force’, Vertigo Theatre Company will perform Charles Dickens’ well loved tale of the transformation of the sour and stingy old miser- with a twist. Five talented actors-Jeff Spencer, Jessica “Red” Bays, Monica Nordeen, Dave Hansen and Ian DeBacker -assume different roles and take the spotlight in a dramatic retelling of the well loved story of Scrooge, his clerk Bob Cratchit and the ghosts Christmas’ Past, Present and Future. This stage version, adapted by Dave Hansen, showcases the veteran actors’ amazing talents with minimal props and costumes. A truly new twist on a well loved vintage tale!
Tickets are $6 and are only available in advance at the library circulation desk, on the main floor, or by calling 228-9510. Advance purchase is required due to space constraints. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Visit www.pwpl.info for more information.
Adding to the festivities, Tu Kaluthia, the library’s café, will host a tasty dessert bar and hot chocolate for purchase prior to the show and during the intermission.
Come, join the holiday festivities at Peter White Public Library and get into spirit while enjoying the timelessness of “A Christmas Carol”!
