Marquette – Women's Political Rights Before the 19th Amendment, a short program by Dr. Ruth Watry of the NMU Political Science Department will be offered on Wednesday, October 29 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
This will be followed by showing of the film “Iron Jawed Angels” with Hilary Swank, Anjelica Huston and Patrick Dempsey. It is an inspirational, true story of two women who dared to make a stand for women's right to vote.
A discussion will follow the film. The event is free and open to the public and sponsored by the Marquette County League of Women Voters and the Peter White Public Library.
