Ishpeming – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame Week will be held Friday, September 11 through Saturday, September 19.
There will be the National Ski Jumpers Reunion BBQ on Friday night, September 11.
Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13, will feature a junior ski jumping tournament on the plastic hills at Suicide Hill Ski Bowl, as well as a golf tournament and banquet.
Monday,September 14 through Friday, September 18 there will be several public events at the Hall of Fame including two film nights to show films on big mountain skiing including “Steep”, the highly acclaimed production which leads off with Bill Brigg's amazing first descent of the Grand Teton. Plans also include demonstrations of Nordic skiing as well as ramps and rails in the Hall of Fame parking lot with snow.
The event will end with the Class of 2008 banquet at UpFront and Company on Friday September 18 and the colorful Kiwanis Breakfast and welcome on Saturday 19. The highlight of pubic events is the Placement Ceremony and Open House at the Hall of Fame Saturday afternoon.
