Calendar – Benefits/Fundraisers – CROP Walk – Oct. 2

Ishpeming – The 2011 CROP Walk will be held on Sunday, October 2, beginning with registration at 2 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming.

Walkers, joggers, strollers and hikers will travel along the Heritage Trail toward Negaunee and back. CROP Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local volunteers to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.

Local event proceeds will be donated to the Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank, in support of the Salvation Army and the St. Vincent De Paul Society and their Marquette, Negaunee, Ishpeming and Republic programs. A portion of the proceeds are donated to CROP’s International efforts.

For information, to donate or volunteer, call the Rev. Katherine Finegan at 376-8826.
