Marquette/Ishpeming/Rapid River – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow will deliver the keynote address at the Marquette Economic Club on Wednesday, August 31 at 8:15 a.m. at the Ramada Inn in Marquette.
As Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, Senator Stabenow will discuss efforts she is leading to support the Upper Peninsula’s forest products industry and spur the renewable biomass energy sector, creating new jobs.
Following her keynote address, Senator Stabenow will meet with seniors at the Negaunee Seniors Center at noon to discuss how she remains committed to protecting Medicare and Social Security benefits.
Stabenow will then visit Gustafson’s Cattle Farm in Rapid River at 1:45 p.m., which was able to grow and become profitable with the help of conservation resources through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
