A Seminar on “Using Structured Interviewing To Hire The Right People” will be offered on Thursday, October 9 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Citizens Forum at Lakeview Arena in Marquette.
This seminar will teach you how to ask “behavior based” questions that look at a candidate's past experience as a predictor of future behavior, as opposed to asking hypothetical questions. The emphasis will be on putting together questions that will be a good predictor of a candidate's success.
Topics will also include the consequence of error, the interview matrix, how to best gather information, the opening, questioning techniques, active listening, biases, and legal issues in interviewing.
This seminar is sponsored by Northern Michigan Public Service Academy (NMPSA). Seminar fees are $25 for NMPSA members and $80 for non-NMPSA members.
