Grand Marais – Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore will host the annual Au Sable Day on Saturday, September 27 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the historic 1874 Au Sable Light Station near Grand Marais.
The day's activities include a free ALTRAN shuttle to the lighthouse from Hurricane River Campground, free tours of the light station and tower, and facility photovoltaic system. The newly completed maritime museum and Eastern National bookstore will also be open.
The public is invited to celebrate National Public Lands Day by helping plant native grass and flower seed from 1 to 2 p.m. on the Au Sable Light Station grounds.
