The Great Lakes Rodeo Gallops Into Marquette County

MARQUETTE, MI (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Fairgrounds will be full of rodeo excitement this weekend as the Great Lakes Rodeo returns to the area. This two-day event features traditional rodeo activities and more. There will be a barn dance on Saturday night at 9 featuring Bordertown and things to do for all ages!

Jesie Melchiori, event co-ordinator, stopped in at the Sunny 101.9 WKQS studios to chat about the event with Mark and Walt this morning. She explained that the Great Lakes Rodeo grew out of simple idea that was born around a kitchen table and now has contestants and attendees from around the region.

She also explained that the Great Lakes Rodeo works to raise money for programs that benefit young people here in Marquette County.
