U.P. Championship Horse Show

Escanaba – The first Upper Peninsula Championship Horse Show will be held Saturday, September 27 during 2008 U.P. Equifest at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba.

This is an invitational show, and all exhibitors must qualify through their local horse association, county fair horse shows or the U.P. State Fair horse shows.

Classes will include: Adult Showmanship, Youth Showmanship; Adult English Pleasure; Youth English Pleasure; Adult English Equitation; Youth English Equitation; Hunter Hack, all ages; Working Hunter, all ages; Adult Western Pleasure; Youth Western Pleasure; Adult Western Horsemanship; Youth Western Horsemanship; Adult Trail; Youth Trail; Adult Poles; Youth Poles; Adult Barrels and Youth Barrels.

A grand champion, reserve champion, and top 10 will be awarded in each class. The entry fee is $5 per class for those who enter by September 15 and $15 per class for entries on show day.

Stalls for the weekend cost $25 for horse show exhibitors. Overnight camping with power is available for $18 a night, payable to the U.P. State Fairgrounds.
